It is the first sign from a far east nation of reopening to tourism.

They arrived late Tuesday evening at Bangkok International Airport, First 39 tourists to set foot in Thailand after more than 7 months of lockdown total.
The restart project was desired by the tourism ministry to revive the country's economy hit hard since the beginning of the year by the pandemic outbreak.
The nation's borders had partially reopened in early summer, precisely in an effort to breathe again for a nation that on the one hand has been able to defend itself admirably against the coronavirus, registering fewer than 4,000 cases and a total of 59 deaths, but on the other has suffered heavily from the lack of tourists, a major item in the national GDP.
The borders are also open for students and especially for medical tourism, that is, of people intending to go to Bangokokok and other cities to undergo surgery and specific examinations in general.
As reported by the Bangkok post, the 39 tourists arriving from Shanghai will be quarantined for a period of 14 days and then will be free to move around the nation. More arrivals will follow shortly, again from China, and then the first European tourists will also begin to land.
The government's decision involves isolating all tourists in hotels and ad hoc accommodations, where they will be able to enjoy the first part of their vacation but will not be allowed to leave the resorts. Once the 14-day period is completed, they will be able to decide to leave the resort and roam the nation. In any case, tourists will be swabbed 2 times, have to use the app to report their health status every day, and the stay may not exceed 30 days provided by the new tourist visa.
It is currently unclear how the reopening for Europeans will unfold and which nations will be allowed to activate the tourist corridor.
As a reminder, Thailand is one of the 15 nations on the EU's green list, so it is also open for non-essential reasons to Italians and Europeans, but to date it unfortunately still remains closed to passengers from the old continent.
