I stayed at this facility in mid-February, so within days of the pandemic outbreak in Europe.
Amsterdam is home to the following seven hotels in the Hilton group, two in the vicinity of the airport, one near the Amsterdam Arena, and the others in the central areas of the city. Having to travel to a convention center near the central station, the choice of the DoubleTree was practically obligatory since it is exactly adjacent and thus ideally located for my one-night stay in the Dutch capital.

Reservation
Before booking, I looked through the various opportunities and found that it was (still) a very high season: hotels practically sold out and very few rooms at a "human" price. The choice therefore fell on this property, which, despite its high price, offered an ideal location. The cost of a room started at 48k Hilton Honors points against a cost of 430€ per night. In this case the advice is always the same, before booking check in the offers section on the dedicated app and then make your reservation by taking advantage of the benefits reserved for elite members. In my case, I have been an HH Gold member for over 4 years. thanks to my Platinum American Express which by the way grants me other privileges such as free breakfast and bonus points.
The room
When I arrived at the front desk, I received a room upgrade and lounge access, again these are the privileges that Gold status in the Hilton loyalty program gives to its loyal customers.

The room was on the top floor and overlooked the river. The immense bay window afforded a beautiful view of the skyline of an Amsterdam still full of life, unaware that by now Covid-19 was circulating.
The room was not very large, but in Amsterdam it is hard to find very spacious rooms. On the desk a 27-inch iMac with the function also of the room's TV, let's say that the choice will certainly be practical but a 27″ TV in a facility of this level is definitely non-standard, since you almost always find screens over 50″ now.
Convenient, however, for working on the computer without having to use one's laptop, perhaps just to check mail or do a quick web search.
Absolutely average bathroom, with no particular design cues or anything else.
Services
The hotel offers many amenities, starting with pedal-assisted bicycles to get around the city. Definitely interesting is the restaurant and cocktail bar on the top floor from which there is an incredible view of the city
As mentioned, not only was the hotel practically sold out, but the whole city was still bustling with life, so finding a place to get something to eat was really difficult. Definitely ideal for enjoying a drink after a long day at work.
In conclusion
I did not have to take advantage of breakfast, so I cannot judge this service, but considering the size of the room the offer must surely have been rich and varied.
