The offer
Tap Miles&Go, that's the name of the Portuguese company's loyalty program, Promises status match from virtually everyone major competitor programs, including Alitalia, Air France, up to Emirates, Ethiad, etc. In practice, only the cards of other Star Alliance companies are excluded.
The promotion is valid for all new Miles&Go members, or those who joined on or after January 1, 2020.
There are two requirements, having a status that will be equalized in Silver or Gold levels and joining the Miles&Go Tap Club or alternatively buying miles from the company's store.
The benefits of Silver and Gold status
The first thing to understand is that the status will not only be recognized when flying TAP, but on the entire Star Alliance network, so from Lufthansa to United, from Singapore to ANA.
This means that, in the case of the Gold level that you get for those who are Alitalia Winged Arrow, you will be able to have access to Star Alliance lounges around the world, as well as extra baggage, bonus miles and waitlist priorities.
In detail, passengers with the level TP Silver get: a 25% bonus of miles flown, the ability to receive last minute upgrades, lounge access when flying intercontinental with TAP, and access to fast track at the airport.

The offer does not stop at the first year, Tap also provides the option to maintain the status more simply through a lower level of miles required for renewal. Most importantly, there is no requirement to make any flights, only to make even a minimal purchase of miles and that's it.
The procedure
I completed the procedure in less than 20 minutes, and in about 2 weeks I received notification that everything had gone through, immediately the status updated on my app and I was recognized on my flight with Lufthansa, a Star Alliance member like the Portuguese airline.
