A large number of passengers are receiving communications from the British airline in these hours about the cancellation of their flight.
Indeed, British Airways continuing its Strategy of cost containment and route optimization, in an environment that still sees no light at the end of the tunnel, has decided to cut many destinations, some forever others only until the winter period, then next November.
In detail, the routes cut are:
- Abu Dhabi
- Calgary
- Charleston
- Dammam
- Durban
- Jeddah
- Kuala Lumpur (from March)
- Lima
- Muscat
- Osaka
- Pittsburgh
- Seoul
- Seychelles (reduced frequencies and no flights from April)
They are there at the moment, Three routes that are instead suspended throughout the summer period 2021 and should therefore return in the fall:
- Bangkok
- San Jose Costa Rica
- Sydney
The decision to significantly reduce routes to Southeast Asia with the suspension of the iconic London/Sydney is the result of a situation in Asia that still sees so much uncertainty about when, and how, individual states will reopen to tourism.
A decision that is also in line with the choice of the New Alitalia, which planned to reduce intercontinental destinations to 5, as well as many other companies waiting for the vaccine to perform the miracle of making Covid-19 disappear.
These days Thailand has officially reopened their borders, albeit maintaining the quarantine requirement, while Australia and New Zealand are talking about opening up to reciprocal tourism early next year.
