It's not just Italy closing everything. Even Bali doesn't reopen borders, Singapore/Hong Kong bubble postponed until 2021

Fueling the dreams of the travelers had been the initially circulated tourism plan. The date given was September 11, 2020. Soon, however, the government swept away the hypothesis, which appeared to all to be far too unrealistic. A new leaked document suggested a possible reopening on December 1. Lo and behold, as everyone must have realized, Bali did not reopen at the beginning of the month and will not reopen at all. According to the latest statements, the authorities seem intent on closing the doors to tourist arrivals until at least the end of 2020.

Offering definite, if not pleasant, news was the deputy governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, known as "Cok Ace": "There are no plans to reopen to foreign tourists on Dec. 1. A reopening for early 2021 seems possible," he said.

When might Bali reopen

Bali is heading into its own high season, and this bodes well for travelers planning to go to this earthly paradise. The news circulating about new vaccines against the Covid-19 are prompting more and more people to speculate a go-ahead for January 2021.

However, the timing of mass distribution must be taken into consideration. In Italy it will proceed at a somewhat cadenced pace, given the limited number of doses coming in during the first wave. While Bali may reopen as early as the beginning of the year, it seems unlikely that Italian and European travelers will be able to set foot there for pleasure.

Current plans for mass vaccination, however, allow one to assume a "free all" within the first three months of 2021. However, it is advisable to wait for official news from government representatives and not pay too much attention to new and possible leaks on the web.

Travel between Hong Kong and Singapore: stop the deal

For many days there has been talk of a "travel bubble" between Singapore e Hong Kong. The expression refers to an agreement made for safe travel. The go-ahead was expected last Nov. 22, but Has been delayed for two weeks within hours of the launch. Those who looked forward to the passage of these 14 days were bitterly disappointed: the long-awaited bubble was again postponed, and this time to indefinite.

The agreement included a limiting condition and "no isolation" travel would be skipped if either destination experienced an increase in untracked coronavirus cases. On December 1, the postponement of the bubble to 2021 was officially announced. Generating this decision was precisely the large number of unlinked Covid-19 positives, thus untraceable.

A new official date for the start of the bubble may be announced later in December. As of today, it is possible to travel between Hong Kong and Singapore. To do so, however, it is necessary to comply with the previous regulation, which requires 7-day quarantine.
