The year 2021 has not started well for serial point accumulators.
The first bad news came at the beginning of the year when, without any prior communication, there was a major Write-down of the value of MR points if transferred to the Krisflyer program, which is that of Singapore Airlines..
The second piece of bad news is that today, on the home page dedicated to partners, the ability to convert points toward the Asia Miles program has disappeared from the site, that is, Cathay Pacific's frequent flyer card.
Unlike with Singapore Airlines, which had "disappeared" from the home page but not from the site, in fact the page leading to the ability to request the transfer was still reachable through search engines.
In the case of Asia Miles, however, the logo has disappeared from the airline loyalty programs home page as well as the dedicated page on the website. At present, therefore, the number of Membership Rewards partner companies.
This is very bad news for Italian customers because these two partners were the only ones who allowed book an award ticket to go around the world, but more importantly they were the only two partners outside the European circuits along with Delta (in Singapore's case it is also the only Star Alliance partner among those currently present).
