Throughout the year, a series of promotions are published that allow people to redeem award tickets for the entire immense network of the two companies, on both short-haul and long-haul destinations.
While in the former case it is almost always a waste of miles against the cost of the ticket and taxes, in the latter case real bargains can be found. Such as the possibility of flying to one of the pearls of the Caribbean such as St Martin, in economy, spending only 230 € and 27,000 Flying blue miles. That is, 42k Membership Rewards points.
Unfortunately, only discounts are offered in this round for traveling in economy, on the downside is that the travel dates also include peak season periods that are usually excluded from these promotions.
