French startup Mooncard, active in the credit card market since 2016, has broken American Express' monopoly in France by allowing its customers to accumulate Flying Blue points with everyday expenses. In particular, the cards are designed for the corporate market, that is, for corporate payments.
With a product similar to some companies also active in the Italian market, owners have the ability to make business expenditures, reporting them directly through the app that allows, for example, to attach any receipt/receipt, manage spending limits and many other functions specific to the transalpine tax system.
The real news is that the fintech company aims to attract new customers through the world of reward travel by offering bonuses, travel insurance, and in particular due to the fact that the credit card issued belongs to the Visa circuit, thus being able to take advantage of virtually 100% coverage of businesses since even in France AmEx is much less accepted than Visa and Mastercard.
There are three cards available, with real welcome bonuses also provided for two of them.
In addition to the welcome bonus, cardholders can earn Flying Blue loyalty program points at a very good rate: 15 FB points for every €10 spent.
The benefits are even more interesting since the use of the paper allows the validity of FB points to be extended for 2 years. Cardholders, duqnque, will only need to make one transaction every 24 months in order not to lose their accumulated miles.
Hopefully, one of the many start-ups in the Italian market will decide to imitate Mooncard. In Italy, Nexi also allows people to convert their loyalty program points into Millemiglia points, but with a really bad conversion rate, and corporate cards, which do not participate in any point or reward collection program, are excluded.
