Accumulation of GC points
GC award points are issued at the rate of one point for every dollar of qualifying spending at all participating Shangri-La hotels, resorts, Traders hotels or Kerry hotels.
You can earn GC reward points:
- Staying in a Shangri-La hotel, Kerry hotel, Traders hotel and Hotel Jen
- Spending on laundry at a Shangri-La hotel, Kerry hotel, Traders hotel and Jen hotel
- Spending at restaurants and bars or a treatment at Chi, The Spa (even when not staying at the hotel)
- By purchasing them directly online at partner stores
- Staying in Taj hotels.
Use of GC points
A basic room can cost from 1,000 points, in hotels in Asia, up to 20k for a night at the Shard in London, Paris or resorts in the Maldives.
You can also use your points to get upgrades to a Horizon / Traders Club room or executive suite. Upgrades start from 800 points for Horizon / Traders Club rooms up to 5,000 and from 2,000 points for upgrades to executive suites, up to 9,500.
It is then possible to transfer points to airlines, there are so many, and (needless to say) no Alitalia. The conversion rate depends on the program.
The welcome gift
All Jade members are also sent a nice welcome gift.

The little-known benefit
Shangri-la and Singapore Airlines have a partnership proposal called "Infinite Journeys", in fact it is an opportunity to link the two accounts and get mutual benefits when flying and/or staying.
Status holders at the hotel chain, and vice versa, can request status match from the carrier.
To get the status match you must be enrolled in both programs, link the accounts, and register for the status match.
The challenge to achieve status
Jade and Diamond status holders will immediately receive KrisFlyer Elite Silver status, which is also automatically Silver Star Alliance status. The challenge is that within 4 months from the date of registration, one can achieve upgrading to KrisFlyer Elite Gold status if one completes 3 flights (for Jade) or 1 flight (for Diamond) with Singapore Airlines or SilkAir.
Conversely, all PPS Club or KrisFlyer Elite Gold status holders are by right Golden Circle Gold upon enrollment, with the possibility of becoming Golden Circle Jade if they stay for one night (at a valid rate) in a Shangri-La Hotel and Resort, Kerry Hotel, Traders Hotel or Jen Hotel worldwide.
