After Tap Portugal, Air France and KLM also announced the extension of elite statuses to their customers of the Flying Blue loyalty program. The news came today.
Automatic renewal affects all elite users with status expiring between March and December 2021.
The 12-month extension will allow level maintenance and also retain excess XP points.

In the context of the COVID-19-related crisis, we promised her in 2020 that we would allow her to maintain her status and protect her excess XP. We now find ourselves renewing the exact same promise for 2021 as well.
We hope that this year holds new opportunities that will allow her to travel with us again. To allay any concerns you may have about your Flying Blue status, we renew our promise to maintain your current level for an additional period so that you can enjoy its benefits when the time comes. In addition, we are extending our previous measure of support on excess XP so that she can enjoy the same benefit as before.
Thus, for our Elite members whose qualifying period ends between March 2021 and December 2021:
