Not a Hilton Honors member? With two stays you can get a free night

In these pandemic months, hotel chains have come up with all kinds of offers to maintain the bond with their customers. We have seen promotions for get upgrades to suite for "life" never launched before, or showers of points to turn into free nights around the world.

The new Hilton Honors loyalty program offer falls into a different category, however, since it is targeted at new customers. Unlike the status match offer which is designed to steal the customer from a competitor, in this case the bonus is offered to those who have never been enrolled in the Honors loyalty program and plan to stay in one of the group's facilities.

The "new members" offer

We have repeatedly explained what the benefits of elite status are, in particular we have told how to get benefits and save a lot of money when staying in the facilities of this chain. In this case, all new members are given the following free gifts 2,000 points on first stay, after registration, and other 3,000 to the second stay. These points are extra than what you normally accumulate.

Important: We are talking about stays not nights, so you have to stay at least one night either at two different facilities or at the same facility but not on consecutive days, i.e., you cannot check out and check in at the same hotel on the same day. This practice is called "back to back" and generates only points not stays.

How to maximize the two promotions

If you have never been enrolled in the HHonors program you can then implement a strategy that could give you at least one night in a hotel in the group, here is an example.

Assume that we book a weekend in Milan at the Doubletree, spending about €90 per night for two nights. The first stay would bring us a profit:

• About 1.900 staples
• 2.000 bonus points for new members
• 2.000 bonus points for Points Unlimited promo

This is net of other expenses incurred at the hotel That could earn more points.

If for the second stay we decided to have 3 nights in one of the Other hotels in the chain scattered throughout Italy, it's almost 50, we would gain:

• About 2.200 staples
• 3.000 Bonus points for second stay for new members
• 2.000 bonus points for Points Unlimited promo
• 5.000 bonus points always linked to the promo

Again, this is net of other hotel expenses that could raise the total points earned.

After two stays we find ourselves, at the very least, 18k Hilton Honors points which is enough for sleep a free night in many hotels around the world (when you can travel again) or in Italy.
