The red zone will not prevent those who need to go abroad for tourism from reaching the airport of departure. This is the news that has sparked protests from Federalberghi but opens an unexpected scenario for many Italians who love to travel.
In a registered note, the Ministry of the Interior confirmed that despite the red zone, Easter it will be possible to move for tourism while respecting local restrictions, and in most cases it will be mandatory to undergo the swab. In contrast, in Italy, it will not be allowed to move between regions until April 30 except for work, health and necessity reasons. Those in the red zone cannot leave their homes, while those in the orange zone cannot leave their municipality of residence. The only exception provided is for visits to relatives and friends maximum of two adults and children under the age of 14, but with return by 10 p.m. In addition, from April 3 to 5 (then Easter and Easter Monday) all of Italy will be in the red zone, so it will be forbidden to leave one's home except for work, health, and urgent reasons.
Countries where you can go
But what are the countries where you can go for tourism. As of today, it will be possible to get to in much of Europe with the possibility of also landing in the Azores and Madeire, Portuguese territories. The same goes for Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Reunion and Mayotte, which belong to French territory. On the list of countries where you can go for tourism are. France, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark (including Faroe Islands and Greenland), Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands (excluding territories located outside the European continent), Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (including territories on the African continent), Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Andorra, and Monaco. In all countries local restrictions will have to be observed and upon return to Italy in most cases it is mandatory to undergo the swab. In addition, those returning from Austria, the United Kingdom and the United States must undergo the 14-day quarantine. Those returning from Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Rwanda, Singapore and Thailand Will have to undergo fiduciary isolation instead
The second homes option
For those who do not have the opportunity to go abroad, there is the opportunity to go to the in second homes even if they are in the pink zone. Again, there are restrictions: only the household can go to the second home by proving entitlement before January 14, 2021, and as long as the home is not inhabited by others. Then there are some regions that have tightened conditions further with South Tyrol having banned going to the second home if you are not a resident, while in Campania and Puglia the ban also applies to residents in the region.
In Tuscany and Valle d'Aosta, nonresidents cannot enter; in Sardinia, only residents can enter and with a negative swab taken within the previous 48 hours or a certificate of successful Covid vaccination. Similar discussion in Sicily where you can enter with a negative swab made 48 hours prior to arrival.
