After a year's hiatus, the new dates have finally been released. And, for travelers, this can only be wonderful news.
Caribbean cruises: how Norwegian Cruise Line restarts
Among the shipping companies to resume Caribbean cruises are the Norwegian Cruise Line. Which, in truth, will start again from Europe. A new travel proposal has been posted on the website in recent hours: 7 days departing from Athens, with the July 25, 2021 as the first available date. And the Caribbean? It starts on the August 7, 2021 With a sail from Montego Bay, Jamaica. And it continues on the 15th with cruises from La Romana, Dominican Republic.
All passengers and all crew should be vaccinated. And it is under this very condition, that Norwegian has obtained permission from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to resume sailings beginning in the summer. Of course, the restart is subject to conditions. If the vaccination campaign in the United States should stop and/or if new and "scary" variants arrive, a new stop is not ruled out.
Norwegian, moreover, is only the latest of the companies to announce the resumption of cruises to the Caribbean. Cruises for which Royal Caribbean, Celebrtity Cruises and Crystal Cruises are already accepting reservations. And which will sometimes see ships sail from ports other than their usual ones. It is unknown, however, when cruises will resume in U.S. waters. The CDC has halted ships with more than 250 passengers as of March 2020, and has not yet announced when tourism will resume from Miami or from Port Canaveral.

Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Crystal Cruises: the restart
Royal Caribbean will restart its Caribbean cruises even earlier than Norwegian. Her Adventure of the Seas will resume sailings next June 12 from Nassau (Bahamas) and will continue operations throughout August. The itinerary includes a stop on Grand Bahama Island and includes two days on the company's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Again, only travelers who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and those-under 18 years of age-will be allowed to depart.
"We are excited to return to offering unforgettable Caribbean vacations in a gradual and safe manner. Vaccines are clearly a turning point for all of us, and as the vaccination campaign continues, we believe that starting with cruises for vaccinated adult guests is the right choice. Moving forward, we expect this requirement and other measures to inevitably evolve over time," commented Royal Caribbean President and CEO Michael Bayley.
Even earlier, the June 5, back to sail the Celebrity Cruises. The departure, this time, is set from Sint Maarten. The July 3, however, will restart the Crystal Cruises from Nassau and Bimini for 7-day cruises that will continue through October stopping at Harbour Island, Great Exuma, Long Island and San Salvador Island.

From Iceland to Bermuda, Viking also resumes in June
In June, the Viking. The company, which specializes in river navigation, has opened bookings for trips to the Bermuda, in Iceland and in the United Kingdom. Trips that, once again, will be reserved for vaccinated travelers only.
The Orion will sail from Hamilton (Bermuda) for seven-day cruises, the Sky will depart from Reykjavik for eight-day-long sailings in Iceland. New routes will also be announced in the coming weeks for the Greece, Malta and Turkey. While as early as May, vaccinated British citizens will be able to board the Venus for sailings within the United Kingdom.
