The vaccination tourism, until a few months ago pure science fiction, is an increasingly concrete reality. In the beginning it was Cuba, which had decided to offer Soberana serum to tourists (to revive an essential industry for the country). Next it was the turn of Russia e Serbia who, in cooperation with specialized tour operators, have launched special packages that allow you to receive the vaccine and possibly discover the area.
An even more comprehensive program was offered by the Maldives. Their "3V Program" includes visit, vaccine and vacation and aims to bring 1.5 million tourists to the islands in 2021.
How will the rules in Alaska? Let's find out together.
Vaccination tourism in Alaska
This was announced by Governor Mike Dunleavy who, in early April, explained how the vaccines will be a key element in the state's restart. Starting with the'June 1, in fact, will also be offered to tourists. All the more reason to visit an extraordinary land with breathtaking nature and beauty that remains in the heart.
Dunleavy, supported by several other government members, has been pushing for months now for the return of cruise ships to Alaska. Restrictions to contain the virus have been in place for a year now and have hit the local economy (which relies so heavily on tourism) hard. Especially since 40% of those over 16 have already been fully vaccinated. And herd immunity is close.
The availability of vaccines, in Alaska, is very high. That is why offering the serum to tourists would not be a problem. The program currently under consideration involves Administer the two doses of Pzifer or Moderna to travelers, but if the tourist is no longer in Alaska at the time of the second dose, they can have it in their country of residence. Where will the vaccines be received? The idea is to Administer them directly at airports in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau and Ketchikan, setting up "mobile clinics" in a safe area.
What to see
Alaska is among the most incredible places in the United States. And, the reason, lies in its nature. People come here mostly for the natural parks, starting with the Denali National Park. A symbol of the state, as large as Sardinia, it is home to the highest mountain in North America (Mount McKinley, at 6,194 meters). To visit it, one is based in Anchorage and enters on foot or by car driving along the Parks Highway. You reach the Visitor Center and enter the most beautiful road in all of Alaska: the Denali Park Road.
Another place not to be missed is theInside Passage which, although formed two hundred years ago, seems to give a trip to the Ice Age. Ships can enter the bay for about 105 kilometers, giving the visitor a breathtaking sight. How to get there. You have to go to Gustavus (either by plane or by ship, or even by car if you choose to rent one), continue to Bartlett Cove and here board the boat or rent a kayak.
And then the Kenai Fjords, Fairbanks, the Aleutian Islands: unmissable wonders, which you will now (Italy-US rules permitting) be able to visit again.
