Alitalia, many award seats to fly to Ibiza and Mykonos and other summer destinations

Like every year, Alitalia announced. The special operations for summer routes.

In detail, connections will be opened to Spain with Ibiza and Menorca from Rome and Milan and the Greek islands Crete, Corfu, Mykonos and Croatia with flights to Dubrovnick.

We went to browse the availability of award seats on Alitalia on these seasonal routes and, much to our surprise, we also identified three award seats in business for flights to all these destinations.

Where Alitalia will fly this summer

In June from Rome and Milan it will be possible to fly on weekends to the island of Ibiza. In July from Rome there will be an increase to four flights a week. In August from both Milan and Rome flights will be daily.

Flights to Corfu from Rome Fiumicino throughout August, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Connections also to Croatia with Rome-Dubrovnik flight twice a week.

Bi-weekly connection to Crete in July and August, again only from Rome.

It is the largest of the Ionian islands and rose to international tourism prominence thanks to the film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin." Kefalonia is connected from Rome with two flights a week in August.

Menorca is connected from both Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino with flights starting in June.

The availability of premium places

At the moment, the flights have just been announced, so you can still find very cheap fares. If, however, you feel like using your Millemiglia points for intraUE flights, there are currently plenty of seats available on all routes.

The first example is Ibiza, with seats also available during the week of August bank holiday and up to 3 in business class.

As you can see, a round-trip ticket costs 40k Millemiglia points for a business fare, which today is about 300€. The advantage is that in the case of an award ticket you have maximum flexibility, which is not the case with a basic business ticket.

Flying to Dubrovink from Milan Linate, via Rome, costs in business only 30k Millemiglia points and just over €110; the same ticket is priced at just under €1,000. This, then, is a very good use of Millemiles in terms of conversion.

If you want, it is also possible to fly, with a few extra miles, in business with Air France and KLM, which it should be remembered guarantee full service on board international business class flights, while Alitalia has not yet reinstated it.
