The Wadden Sea covers 500 km and three countries. UNESCO has designated the Danish part of the Wadden Sea as a World Heritage Site. The German/Dutch part has already been declared a World Heritage Site in 2009. A unique nature reserve in the world.
The extraordinary Wadden Sea
The Wadden Sea is the largest national park in Denmark, A natural space to experience an infinite landscape. The tidal flats present are among the most valuable in the world because they are essential for the reproduction of birds, fish, marine mammals and plants. Among the main features is the spectacular phenomenon of low tide, which twice a day shows the seabed covered with worms, mollusks and snails that attract large flocks of birds. This particular event allows for excursions, either on foot, on horseback or on characteristic local wagons, which also allow visitors to collect large quantities of oysters. The added height from the spiral tower will expand the panoramic views from 3.6 to 18.2 kilometers, making it possible to see the entire island of Rømø all the way to the sea.
