By JetbBue we have told you several times introducing this very young low-cost company, which is based in New York and bears the signature of David Neeleman (Brazilian who grew up in Utah, founded four companies and is co-owner of TAP Air Portugal).

We told you about his A321neo and its "Mint Class" , a very elegant Business Club with 24 individual suites. And, available to every traveler, a 17- or 22-inch screen and the largest reclining bed of any U.S. carrier.

Dubbed the "cab of the skies," JetBlue has been granted 75 slots to land and take off at the JFK, opened three new routes a month. And it has come to cover 101 destinations across North, Central and South America. Now, here the company is preparing to begin the revolution, landing in Europe.

Initially, JetBlue's idea was to connect London to Boston and New York. Plans have since changed. If the New York-London route (both Gatwick and Heathrow) is to be opened on the August 12, for Boston will have to wait until summer 2022. Reservations will begin on May 25, and initially the frequency will be daily:

  • Departure from New York at 9:48 p.m. and arrival in London at 10:10 a.m. (+1)
  • Departure from London at 6:10 p.m. and arrival in New York at 9:35 p.m.

As of September 30 you will add a second daily flight With:

  • Departure from New York at 7:48 p.m. and arrival in London at 7:55 a.m. (+1)
  • Departure from London at 12:10 p.m. and arrival in New York at 3:43 p.m.

A confirmation of the reopening of U.S. borders? Not really. To date, the United States does not allow travelers from England or Italy or the rest of the European Union. But, JetBlue probably expects those restrictions to be lifted before August 12.

Prices

How much does it cost to fly from London to New York? Assume we take a low-cost from Italy to the UK and then board a JetBlue nonstop: in August, the fare starts at $749 USD (615 euros), and in October at $497 USD (408 euros).

More convenient is the flight a/r. Doing a week in New York in October, leaving on the 10th and returning to London on the 17th, the Blue Basic fare flight costs 408.53 USD (335.46 euros). In Mint fare, the price rises to US$1,349.69 (€1,108.29).

How to fly with JetBlue

From London to New York, and vice versa, with JetBlue you fly aboard theAirbus A321LR. There are 24 seats in Mint Class, those in Economy 114 (but 24 are Even More seats, more spacious). Sitting in Economy, moreover, is also an experience. Just think of the Free WiFi for all, or to gourmet food. Thanks to a partnership with New York-based food service Dig, even those traveling on the most basic ticket can make up their own menu at no extra cost. The internet connection is very fast and is a bit of a unicum in the transatlantic flight scene. The entertainment system, then, is top-notch: HD displays for each passenger, video game controllers, rich library.

Those traveling in Mint have service much like that of a private jet. The seats resemble actual suites, and 17-inch screens are matched by wireless charging stations. The Mint Studios, two per plane in the front row, are designed for those who want to relax or rest: they have 22-inch screens, a large table, and a guest seat. Not to mention the gigantic bed, for flying in the same comfort as a five-star suite.
