A vacation in California? At present, it is not only a dream trip, but also a real dream. The United States have lowered the alert level for travel to Italy, moving it from level 4 (travel prohibited) to the level 3 (reconsider the trip). And the real news is that Biden has tasked a task force of experts to define the timeline and modalities for reopening. May travel to the United States, from Italy, resume? As of today, there is no certainty. But the hope is that, by July, the travel ban will be lifted. And that starry-eyed dreams can return.
Where then to go? If you have in your sights the California, between Los Angeles and San Francisco there is a whole new destination. A walkway among the redwoods, which will excite the little ones and make the grown-ups feel like children again. To reach it, you must purchase a ticket to the Sequoia Park Zoo.

Spectacular are the redwoods. Tall and fascinating. And it is precisely among these trees that you can walk today, climbing the skywalk at the Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka. It opened last June 4, 330 long and located 30 meters in height, the walkway is among the longest in the world. And it is truly incredible, as it plunges into nature and allows you to walk through the canopies of the redwoods. Already as you ascend the 100-meter ramp you begin the audio-guided experience. You arrive on the first of nine platforms connected to aluminum bridges, all without stairs. Because, the skywalk at Sequoia Park Zoo, it is a'inclusive attraction.
"We are excited to announce the opening of the Redwood Sky Walk," said Emily Kirsch, marketing manager at Visit Eureka Community. "As home to California's oldest accredited zoo, we have always been interested in inspiring visitors by helping them appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. We are delighted that the Redwood Sky Walk now offers everyone the chance to experience the world's tallest trees from a whole new perspective."
Tickets cost $14.95 for adults, $10.95 for children ages 2-13 (equal to about 12 and 10 euros).

Among the tallest trees in the world
Giant sequoias can be seen growing solo, or in small scattered groups, for about 250 miles along the western slopes of the central Sierra Nevada. The redwoods sempervirens are found instead along the northern California coast, in an area 450 miles long and 15 miles wide. Both are often called "the ancient kings of the forest," because of their ability to grow to more than 90 feet. The real record, however, is set by Hyperion. A sequoia sempervirens 115.6 meters tall, the tallest tree in the world (while the "bulkiest" one, 83.8 meters tall with a diameter of 11.10, is General Sherman).
The skywalk at Sequoia Park Zoo does not reach 90 meters but, stopping at 30, allows visitors to admire the forest from above and look up at the canopies and the sky.
