Leaving for vacation requires special attention this year. Indeed, it is necessary to have with you everything you need that, starting from theJuly 1, will be reduced to one certificate: the Green Pass. A document, in paper or digital version, that can ascertain the status of each tourist:

  • negative swab
  • vaccinated
  • cured of Covid with development of antibodies

Each country freely decides whether to grant Green Pass after the first dose or the inoculation of both. Here is the information, to date, made public. The time lag between the two injections can be quite long. It cannot be ruled out, at this stage of the year, that you may find yourself traveling without having completed your vaccination cycle. Having said that a negative swab can solve any problem and guarantee the Green Pass in any case, it is good to know how in Italy the certificate can be obtained even with a single dose. This could prove to be very important in the event of color changes in the various regions, which today are predominantly in the white zone.

Doors also open in Austria, provided at least 21 days have passed (and no more than three months). Croatia, Latvia, Slovakia and Slovenia also have the same timeframe. Of the same opinion are Cyprus and Romania, while Finland requires a test within 72 hours of arrival, exclusive of a first dose received by at least 14 days.

According to current regulations, it is permissible to travel from Italy to the rest of the European Union countries without any special constraints. In fact, it is not necessary to provide a reason behind one's travel. The agreements made in Europe between the various leaders will, no doubt, lead to vacations predominantly within the borders of the old continent. Here is where you can get around by taking advantage of the Green Pass as the only form of "restriction," without having to undergo quarantine:

    • Austria
    • Belgium
    • Bulgaria
    • Cyprus
    • Croatia
    • Denmark: this includes the Faroe Islands and Greenland
    • Estonia
    • Finland
    • France: this includes Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Reunion, Mayotte
    • Germany
    • Greece
    • Ireland
    • Latvia
    • Lithuania
    • Luxembourg
    • Malta
    • Netherlands: excluding territories outside Europe
    • Poland
    • Portugal: this includes the Azores and Madeira
    • Czech Republic
    • Romania
    • Slovakia
    • Slovenia
    • Spain: this includes territories on the African continent
    • Sweden
    • Hungary
    • Iceland
    • Norway
    • Liechtenstein
    • Switzerland
    • Andorra
    • Principality of Monaco
    • Israel

Different is the case for United Kingdom e Northern Ireland, which includes Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and British bases located on the island of Cyprus. The government does not require a Green Pass, but a negative result of a swab taken within three days prior to departure. One must first fill out an online form (travel locator form), but more importantly undergo a 10-day isolation.

La France chose not to wait until July 1 to make official the Green Pass, which has been active since June 9. This allows free access to the territory, provided they have received two doses of the vaccine, administered at least 14 days ago. All others, over 11 years of age, will have to present a negative antigenic swab taken within 72 hours prior to departure.

Doors open not only to EU states but also to travelers from Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand and Singapore. Still limits in place, however, for Britain and the United States. Faster times also in Germany, Greece e Spain. Proof of vaccination will be sufficient to allow unrestricted entry.

    Green Pass, what to know

The Green Pass is a digital or paper certificate, active in EU countries, for the purpose of attesting:

    • vaccination against Covid-19 disease
    • negative test result
    • recovery from Covid

The document has a QR code, which certifies its authenticity during inspection. It is totally free and guaranteed in English and national languages. The system is in place and by June 28 all eligible persons should have received a text message or e-mail with the authentication code (AUTHCODE) of successful vaccination, negative test or recovery from Covid. This will make it possible to download the Green Pass from the portal dgc.gov.it, taking advantage of digital identity (Spid/Cie) or with a health card (or ID if you are not registered with the NHS). You can also access your Regional Electronic Health Record, as well as theImmune App o ME. Alternatively, you can request a printout from your general practitioner.
