Just a few weeks ago we told you about the possibility of getting married in the air. It all stemmed from "The WEDDING with ANA", an initiative conceived by one of the airline's employees who had focused on pure romance. A sentiment that is affecting the entire industry, as reflected in a post published by the company Southwest.

The story of York and Sabrina, bonded through Southwest
A video has been posted on the official page testifying to the York and Sabrina's wedding. Telling their story is Southwest itself, which writes in the accompanying clip, "York, a Southwest pilot, and Sabrina, an aviation-loving friend, first met in person at a Southwest ticket counter. When the two began dating, Sabrina started taking York's flights, opportunities that allowed the two to travel together from city to city."
The romance then came into being thanks to the airline itself, which obviously welcomed the man's request. York in fact chose to get married aboard a Southwest flight.. The ceremony was attended by several friends, family members and a group of unsuspecting but well-wishing clients. The couple has visited many cities during their relationship. And it was during a flight over the mountains of Utah that York proposed marriage.
A beautiful initiative posted on social media and which garnered numerous congratulatory comments from users. At the end of the flight, which the protagonists continued seated like all the other passengers, there was also time for the customary photos with the couple immortalized in front of the plane that hosted their ceremony. The two decided to get married on the flight from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City, where they hope to settle down. Southwest Airlines. è the world's largest low-cost airline and is based in Dallas. It was founded in March 1967 and has only ever used Boeing 737 aircraft.
Getting married in the air, as the couple did
Compared to the ANA initiative, this time. the marriage was officiated during the flight, a possibility that technically anyone can access. York and Sabrina's chosen flight largely flew over the state of Utah, so the couple applied for a marriage license in that state. When the big day arrived, the two boarded, and as soon as the flight began to cover the state of Utah, they were married. Andrew Pabste, another of the airline's pilots, officiated at the wedding.
In Italy, the marriage is noted in the logbook and, an extract of it, must be delivered to the director of the airport where one lands or to the consulate. These, in turn, will send the acts to the municipalities of residence of the bride and groom. If the landing takes place in Italy, the airport director takes care of it; if it takes place abroad, the task falls to the consular authority. Getting married, however, always requires consent from the airlines.
