Rome Fiumicino Airport, from today you can vaccinate for free before your flight

As of this morning, it is active at theinside Fiumicino terminal 3 the new vaccine point dedicated to departing, arriving and transit passengers and airport operators, implemented by Adr with Lazio region and Spallanzani Institute.

"Leonardo da Vinci" thus becomes the first airport in Italy. to have a rapid vaccine point inside the terminal. This center is in addition to the health hub in operation since last February 11 in the airport's long-stay parking lot, where 250,000 people have been vaccinated so far. But that's not all, Fiumicino also has a Covid-19 testing center at arrivals in Terminal 3, which has been operational for almost a year, and testing facilities at boarding gates reserved for passengers traveling on Covid tested flights. Around the world, there are many airports that have opened vaccination hubs for passengers, partly with a view to intercepting customers by offering free vaccinations, as happened in Alaska and in San Franisco.

The new facility of about 150 square meters, has been built at Terminal 3 departures in the elevated area near the pharmacy. It will operate 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and will have both Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines and Johnson & Johnson viral vector single dose.

The Covid-19 vaccine offering in the terminal is for passengers departing and arriving at Fiumicino Airport who are traveling and wish to have their first or second booster dose of the vaccine directly at the airport, or for those who wish to be vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson's single dose vaccine. Airport workers will also have access to the vaccine center in the terminal, just as they already have access to the long-stay vaccine hub.
