It is official, the production of the Airbus A380 Will end in 2021. Anticipated timing for delivery of the last three aircraft that will join the fleet of Emirates. A rather substantial change in the schedule, amounting to about seven months. In fact, it went from the planned delivery in June 2022 to November 2021.
This is a wide-ranging project, which includes a replacement in the current fleet. While it is true that these latest three aircraft will bring Emirates' A380 fleet to 122, there is also the fact that the carrier has already begun an operation to retire several aircraft from commercial routes. By November, therefore, the total will be 118. Much can change over the years. If there is one thing Covid has taught us, it is that one's programs can be modified and radically transformed in a short time. That said, Emirates' plan, on paper, is to take full advantage of the A380s, at least until 2035, approximately.
Premium Economy Cabin
The order to be completed by November 2021 will increase the number of aircraft equipped with the highly regarded Premium Economy by Emirates. The finishes are particularly well cared for, with the interior coloring tending mainly toward white. There is no shortage of polished bronze elements and wood grain. An exclusive travel experience, also made possible by more than comfortable seats.
These are located at the front of the lower plane of the aircraft. A total of 56 places which follow a 2-4-2 arrangement. Each seat boasts 49 cm in width and reclines up to 20 cm. There is ample legroom and the spacing between rows reaches a maximum of 101 cm. Passenger comfort is the company's main goal. Suffice it to say that the headrest is adjustable to six different positions. Support is optimal and also goes through a leg rest and footrest.
Each individual station will be able to take advantage of one 13.3 inch screen, so you can listen to music or watch movies and TV series. Charging sockets are always present, complementing a large dining table and cocktail table on the side.
Fall with Emirates
Emirates chairman, Tim Clark, explained how an agreement has been reached with Airbus in order to significantly advance the delivery of the remaining A380 orders: "The aircraft will be equipped with the much-requested Premium Economy seats, which will be launched extensively over the next few months."
Looking ahead to next fall, the carrier does not seem at all concerned about the Delta variant. In fact, precise planning is underway, which does not at all consider the possibility of a new travel restriction. Restrictions have been eased, and the arrival of a third dose of vaccine should succeed in ensuring a vague "normalcy."

As mentioned, Covid does not seem to scare the carrier, which intends to look to the near future with renewed confidence, to the point of wanting to introduce extra capacity for more than 10 European cities. Space also for Italy in this plan, specifically with Rome. Alongside our Italian capital are Birmingham, Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin, Hamburg, London, Lisbon, Madrid, Munich and Zurich.
