In so many articles we have told about the various benefits that American Express Platinum holders have, but often, not knowing the details, fail to take full advantage of them.
We have defined this paper as the best travel companion and the reasons are the many benefits it gives, especially when you are away from home. I benefits in hotels allow to get room upgrades, free breakfast and more, travel insurance is perhaps the main advantage that saves hundreds when traveling, alone or with family.
Today I want to focus on the most beloved benefit for frequent air travelers, which is access to VIP lounges around the world.

Priority Pass
ANA Lounge, Lisbon Airport
All Platinum Holders Have access to the highest level of membership Priority Pass, or Prestige. This means that you have unlimited access, even during the same day you can enter multiple lounges at the same airport. Unlike with some cards issued abroad, Italian cardholders also have the option of being able to bring a guest free of charge as long as they are traveling on the same day as the cardholder.
PP membership must be applied for and has a validity linked to that of the credit card; if the latter is cancelled, PP membership ends within a few weeks.
The number of available lounges has grown in recent months and alternative services such as access to some airport spas or the possibility of being able to have lunch in some restaurants present at certain airport terminals.
Plaza Premium Lounge

Platinum holders have free access to the 56 Plaza Premium lounges worldwide. To gain access, simply show your card and boarding pass. Each passenger may bring one guest per visit at no cost.
Lufthansa Lounge
This is a new, almost last-minute development that we explained in a recent article. Indeed, the German carrier has decided to open a series of lounges to Platinum holders.
Personal Platinum and Platinum business cardholders, as well as holders of their respective supplementary cards, will be able to access lounges located at airports in:
- Hamburg HAM
- Berlin BER
- Boston BOS
- Detroit DTW
- Dubai DXB
- Dusseldorf DUS
- Frankfurt FRA
- Hannover HAJ
- Munich MUC
- London LHR
- Newark EWR
- New York JFK
- Paris CDG
- Washington, D.C. IAD
What are the requirements
- Free access to Lufthansa Business Lounges (regardless of booking class, only with confirmed seat reservation) or the Lufthansa Senator Lounge (with Business Class ticket)
- Valid only in combination with Lufthansa, SWISS or Austrian Airlines flights
- Valid at Munich airport and Frankfurt airport
- There is a charge for access by any guests
Centurion Lounges
These are the lounges directly owned by American Express, the only one in Europe is located in London, and it is beautiful, all the others can be found scattered around the world.
When you arrive at the reception desk simply show your American Express Platinum (or Centurion) along with your boarding pass, you will then be able to enter while also bringing two guests with you.
Virgin Clubhouse
These are the lounges owned by Virgin Atlantic, the British airline that operates only long-haul flights aboard wide-body aircraft.
Clubhouse access is restricted to a small number of passengers. Those flying Upper Class, the business class, and gold level holders in the Flying Club program. London's is the most exclusiva, the most beautiful and The one where getting in will always be difficult.

International American Express Lounges

Escape Lounges
These waiting rooms are owned by American Express and were recently added to the Amex portfolio.
They are located in the United States, generally at secondary airports, for example Oakland and Palm Beach. Access is free for all Platinum holders who can also bring two guests at no cost.
Delta Sky Clubs
Access to American Delta's official lounges is a great advantage if you fly economy with this carrier. To gain access to the many lounges scattered around For U.S. airports, and not only, you will only need to show your ticket (Delta) and American Express card.
The only downside is. it is not possible to bring guests for free, but the benefit extends to any additional card, so if you are traveling in pairs this may be the right ploy.
