The airport in the Danish capital is the main hub of SAS, the Danish national airline that belongs to the Star Alliance. The operations of SAS and the Star Alliance airlines are mainly in Terminal 1; all other carriers are in Terminal 2.

In this terminal there are two lounges affiliated with Priority Pass, one of which is precisely the Carlsberg Aviator Lounge.

The lounge is located in the heart of Terminal 2, easily accessible after passing through security.

Occupying the entire second floor of the building, access is from the opposite side of the transit and shopping area.

The monitor that greets passengers highlights all the access methods, in addition to the classic Priority Pass, Lounge Key, and some local partners, many other airlines, including Air France and, with great surprise, even Alitalia.

What is interesting is that the lounge is divided into two sections: one is exclusively available to passengers traveling in business or holding elite status; the other is open to holders of certain cards, such as PP.

Business Lounge

Guests who have access to this section of the lounge certainly enjoy a less crowded environment.

On hand is a bar counter with a beer tap, Carlsberg of course, and an array of appetizers.

This side is definitely better stocked in terms of wines and alcoholic products than the section on the other side of the facility. Opposite discourse, however, for the buffet, which is more plentiful in the area open to all guests and where one can obviously go without restriction.

Since it faces the back, and a construction site for a new bar, the view is not the best.

The set-up and decor are also significantly uglier than the other area, which is open to PP holders and the like.

Aviator Lounge

This lounge area is definitely nicer and more comfortable.

The large windows overlooking the living part of the terminal let in a lot of light and allow you to observe what is happening at the airport.

The decor is very nice, the beer logo that gives the lounge its name is drawn by wooden panels in the walls.

There is plenty of seating available in the room, which, being arranged in a horseshoe shape, allows for a variety of accommodations: from classic bar seating to comfortable armchairs where you can relax before your flight.

There is also a small area available for families with children.

The food offerings are not very enticing, although a search for local products is evident. In contrast in this lounge, if you like beer, you will never die of thirst.

In conclusion

The beauty of having a free Priority Pass card included in the annual fee of the American Express Platinum allows unlimited and each time for 2 guests of over 1,000 lounges around the world. Even when traveling in economy, as in my case today, you can relax in a clean and elegant place, recharge your devices and eat/drink what you want without having to pay anything.

The presence of a section of the lounge dedicated to elite or business passengers is an added plus of this VIP lounge. The environment is calmer and quieter, perfect for those who want to work or take a nap before their flight.

The verdict
Excellent idea to divide the elite/business passenger area from the area for cardholders such as Priority Pass. The Carlsberg area is definitely more attractive, scenic and comfortable. The business area is older and would need a refresh. Insufficient food offerings; there was nothing hot, let alone sandwiches or meat dishes. Of course lots of beer for everyone and, for biz passengers, lots of alcohol as well.
