Iberia opens new routes to San Francisco, Dallas and Washington DC. Lots of award seats available

As the U.S. borders reopen, much news begins to arrive about new routes that will kick off between the new and old continents with the start of the summer season.

We have already talked about all direct routes between Italy and the United States and of the ITA Airways' new routes, today we focus on the new routes made official today by Iberia for the upcoming summer season, all departing from Madrid.

The new routes

• Madrid to Dallas, starting in April with four weekly round-trip flights
• Also starting in April, Iberia will operate four weekly round-trip flights to Washington, D.C.
• The flight to San Francisco will be operated three times a week

Tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks, and the same will be done as premium seats become available

How to book an award ticket with Iberia

The Spanish carrier, owned by the IAG group, which also includes British Airways, is one of American Express' partners, so it is possible to Turn Membership rRwards points into Avios points. We have already written about how it is possible to fly in the USA, with Iberia, at only 68k Avios points in business class or 34k points in economy and with significantly lower fees than those charged by British Airways and Air France.

These flights, it should be remembered, will be in addition to the 10 weekly round-trip flights from both New York and Miami, five weekly flights from Chicago, and three weekly flights from Boston and Los Angeles.
