After 20 months, India finally reopens to international tourism: in 2020, the Asian country was the Second most affected nation by the pandemic, previously only the United States, but now the numbers are finally starting to improve, and the New Delhi government these days has ordered new rules for foreign travelers.
As early as mid-October, the country had resumed welcoming small groups of tourists organized by charter flights. As of Monday, November 15, the borders were officially reopened. Still under restrictions, however. The government also announced that the first 500,000 people to book a trip will not have to pay entry visa fees. From Italy, to give an example, they amount to about 110 euros.
What you need to travel to India
A few days ago India has also returned to be visited by individual tourists, but of course some limitations remain that every visitor is required to observe. The first is that of possess a tourist visa valid, that is, a visa with a date after October 6, 2021.
Regarding anti-Covid precautions, travelers arriving from abroad will need to submit a self-certification (The form to be used is available on Air Suvidha's website) and a negative PCR test dating back no more than 72 hours before the flight.
People who have completed the vaccination cycle will not need to do no quarantine, while others will need to observe a 7-day isolation period, with a test on day 8.
India's only other requirement for tourists is to keep their health monitored in the two weeks following their arrival in the country.

You can visit India from Italy
Unfortunately for Italian travelers, there is bad news: It is still not possible for us to visit the Asian country. This is actually due to two different regulations, one from India and one from Italy.
