The world of cars is changing face. The future is electric, and this concept is not just about the production line. This is clearly demonstrated by the agreement between Hertz and Tesla. In an increasingly environmentally conscious global society, how could such a celebrated rental service possibly ignore this and not guarantee a large fleet of electric cars? The U.S. company, however, has decided to go decidedly big. In fact, the largest fleet of electric rental cars in the U.S. is being developed: according to the announcement, it will consist of as many as 100 thousand Tesla electric cars by the end of 2022.

A crucial step for Hertz as it looks to the future after coming out of a delicate situation to say the least, it has in fact been placed in receivership. The company explains the decision and the huge investment quite simply: "Consumer interest in electric vehicles is skyrocketing. Electric vehicles are now mainstream and it is evident that there is an increase in global demand and interest."

Tesla Model 3
The revolution began in November. You can as of now rent the Tesla Model 3 at Hertz locations in major airports in the United States. For the time being, the operation mainly concerns the U.S. market, but soon it will move to some cities in Europe as well. However, the proposal of an attractive electric car fleet alone cannot be enough; it is also necessary to expand the network of charging points. Operation that is in the company's plans, in fact, thousands of columns will be installed scattered throughout its network of rental points.
Specifically there will be 3 thousand fast-charging stations (supercharge) by Tesla in both the United States and Europe. This is indeed a considerable investment, taking into account that these 100,000 models will account for more than 20% of the brand's global fleet. We turn our eyes to the involvement of 65 markets by the end of 2022 and as many as 100 by the end of 2023. As much as there is great enthusiasm at the moment, it is the company itself that admits it has to consider external elements that could have a huge impact on this development.
The reference goes to the semiconductor crisis that is plaguing the whole world. This means chip shortages and consequently a hypothetical future crisis for the electrical market, obviously involving Tesla on the production side as well. At the moment, however, none of this seems to scare investors. Sharp rise in prices for Hertz and especially Elon Musk's company (12.66). The manufacturer's shares reached an all-time high, surpassing $1,000: $1,024.86.
