World's largest cruise ship moves to the Mediterranean

Wonder of the Seas, the latest jewel of Royal Caribbean, was supposed to debut in 2022 with a departure from Shanghai, China's main port, but the event was canceled. So the first voyages of the glitzy American cruise ship will depart from the Caribbean, Spain, and Italy.

No dice then for the cruise made in China. The reason? The People's Republic's Coronavirus laws that currently ban such travel. In the West, however, work is already underway to resume the next travel season in a big way after the stop due to the pandemic. And, as Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley also pointed out, bookings for cruises are increasing rapidly.

The Voyages of Wonder of the Seas

On March 4, 2022, the Norwegian-U.S. company's new record-breaking ship will debut in the company's home port of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It will set sail on Caribbean cruises that will touch locations in Cozumel, Mexico, the island of Saint Martin, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and many more.

There Wonder of the Seas will open summer season with departures from Barcelona and Rome, making seven-night voyages around the sea linking Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
