Twenty-four hours apart, the two OneWorld alliance companies, British Airwyas and Qatar, have announced the renewal of statuses expiring in the coming months.

In the case of the English carrier, ex officio renewal applies to all Executive Club members with the status expiring between April 1 and June 30, 2022. As has been the case in past months, BA's choice was to divide enrollees into 3 groups based on status expiration, which is not fixed but depends on the date of enrollment in the program. In this case, therefore, it is about one-third of the enrollees who are involved in the extension of the level held, regardless of the number of Tiers earned, as well as done previously for other members.
In addition to this umpteenth extension, the company renewed the "discounted" table for status through 2022, extending the previous period by another 6 months.
Executive Club members will thus have the opportunity to renew/level up by earning fewer Tier points:
- Bronze - 225 Tier Points
- Silver - 450 Tier Points
- Gold - 1125 Tier Points
- Gold Guest List - 3,750 Tier Points
Unfortunately, however, there is no renewal of earned Tier points, which means that all members start from scratch in the renewal race beyond the current deadline.
Also Qatar, company that has very close ties with the British carrier, announced the renewal of all expiring statuses for another 12 months. In an email and almost out of time, the Middle Eastern carrier notified all Privilege Club members that statuses expiring in 2021 are automatically extended by one year.
