100 thousand point supercoupon, how to earn a never-seen-before bonus if you use Payback card

The Payback multi-collection card is a great way to collect points by shopping everywhere, both in physical stores and online. It is the only loyalty program that offers, in Italy, the possibility to accumulate points by shopping at supermarkets, gasoline and online shopping.

How Payback coupons work

Once you have registered with one of the many merchants participating in the points collection, simply go to the app, or the website, to check which coupons you can activate. Generally there are two types of coupons:

1. Point Multipliers. These coupons allow you to multiply from 2 to 50 times the number of base points you collect with that specific action
2. Fixed bonus. In this case, upon purchase, you will receive a bonus that varies depending on the individual promotion or product purchased

Coupons must be activated and, unless specified, are valid for one purchase only. Coupons cannot be combined, so if you activate several coupons for the same product they will be applied chronologically based on the date/time of activation. This is why I always recommend scrolling down the list of active coupons to the bottom or using the filters to select all the offers of the specific sign we are interested in.

Last but not least, it is important to remember that vouchers have an expiration date, so always better to be careful and not let offers slip through your fingers.

How to use Payback coupons

If we are in a physical store, using these coupons is simple. Just show the card, physical or digital, at the time of payment. If, on the other hand, we are dealing with virtual stores, the methods vary from site to site. In many cases, it is necessary to go through the Payback site/app to land in a dedicated section of the store that tracks Payback provenance. For example, on Booking.com you will immediately see the base points you earn from booking.

For other stores, however, it is necessary to enter the card number at check-out without going through the Payback site/app.

The best way not to lose points is to use the app (or site) to check if the store has an offer in place, activate it, and click on the eventual link to make the purchase online. Also, it is important to remember that there are virtual stores that accept Payback but do not give points if the transaction takes place in a physical store. For example, H&M or Apple.

Some examples of coupons

The list of these offers is constantly updating, so you should always consult it before making a purchase. Physical merchants are almost always active with offers and coupons. I am talking for example about Carrefour, Esso, Self, Maxi Zoo. In addition, in many cases these brands have multiple offers dedicated to different products allowing you to accumulate, in the same expenditure, many additional bonuses if you buy one of the products on promotion.

During the holiday season you can collect lots of points by taking advantage of coupons for gift-giving or for your everyday purchases even in physical stores that only give points by buying online, for example Sephora, Douglas and as mentioned H&M just to name a few.

Then there are coupons that are valid at some well-known restaurant chains such as American Graffiti, Old Wild West and Wiener Haus. Going to a Christmas dinner with friends and crediting the points on our card can give you, thanks to these coupons, a lot of points without much expense.

The mega bonus of 100 thousand points

Let's be honest, such a bonus we have never seen. 100 thousand points is a really good reward for an expense, in this case a mortgage application, through which we could also give ourselves a small gift.

The 100,000 PAYBACK promotional points will be credited within 60 days of disbursement of the loan applied for online. These 100,000 points could turn into €500 in shopping vouchers for example at Carrefour or in 415€ of gasoline at Esso. A premium that could be worth almost a mortgage payment.

How to use and how not to waste Payback points

There is of course, as in all point collections, a catalog of awards. It will then be possible to convert points into a set of cookware, an electric shaver and more. As reiterated at the Coop points collection, this type of conversion only makes the manager happy and not the customer.

Alternatively, points can be used to discount spending in partners, with the following conversion rates:

• At Carrefour, Maxi Zoo, Bricofer and 101 Coffee, you can transform 1,000 points in 5€ off
• From Mondadori 1,200 points become €5 off
• If you book a flight or hotel on American Express travel, you can convert 1,000 points into 4€ (here is an example of using it to discount the 5* hotel)
• For gasoline at Esso, you need 960 points to get a 4€ off coupon

Then there is a third way: converting points into Alitalia miles. The conversion rate is 2:1, meaning 1,000 Payback points become 500 Alitalia miles. Currently, it is no longer possible to convert points into airline tickets, but only in vouchers to be used on Last Minute, But at this time we absolutely do not recommend it to you.

The American Express Payback

There is a dedicated credit card: the American Express Payback, which allows you to earn points every time you use it (1 point for every 2 euros spent). Points double in case of purchases at program partners.

It works both as a traditional card and via smartphone, offers purchase and fraud protection, and, thanks to a partnership between American Express and Live Nation, provides access to exclusive presales for top concert tickets.
