We are there, although slightly behind the original plans, the first plane with ITA Airways' new livery is almost ready for takeoff. This will not be the first of the New Airbuses ordered by Italy's new flag carrier, but of one that was inherited from the old Alitalia and will presumably remain in the fleet for the next 12 to 24 months.

The plane will bear the name of the great Italian champion Paolo Rossi, top scorer at the World Cup in Spain, as well as World Champion, Ballon d'Or, a true popular icon, a sportsman who turned his difficulties into one of the most beautiful stories of Italian sports. The choice of the champion Paolo Rossi's name is part of ITA Airways' strategy of naming new aircraft after Italy's greatest sportsmen, ambassadors in the world of professionalism.
A change of course this from Alitalia's historical choices. The plane is being "painted" in Poland in a specialized company. These days some pictures of the workmanship have appeared on the net. These are "stolen" images or of a marketing strategy? It is not known, but they help keep the focus on a momentous transition: the end of Alitalia's livery and the beginning of ITA Airways' new image.
A special feature of the ITA lettering on the A320's engines is reminiscent of the old Alitalia logo, this is definitely a tribute and a trait d'union marking this symbolic handover.
ITA Airways' new livery features the color light blue, chosen as a symbol of unity, cohesion and pride of the country and representative of Italian sports and national team. On the rudder is the tricolor, on the blue background the red and white gold logo of ITA Airways and stylized icons inspired by the national artistic heritage. One of the fundamental pillars of ITA Airways' business plan is to put the customer at the center of its business. For this very reason the company will soon invite fans on its social media to choose the names of the champions after whom upcoming aircraft will be named With the new livery.
