A iconic train everyone knows. Agatha Christie set one of his most famous novels "Murder on the Orient Express" there. The famous locomotive has also been featured in so many movies, cartoons, songs, episodes of TV series, and you name it.
The first trip dates back to the 1883 with the leg that went from the France at Romania And then all the way to Constantinople. The routes of this fantastic train were truly many: Lausanne - Milan - Venice - Trieste; Zurich - Innsbruck - Budapest - Athens; Paris - Istanbul - Athens; Paris - Belgrade; then Bucharest, Vienna, London, Calais, Lausanne, Milan, Zagreb, Thessaloniki, Sofia, Munich and other destinations.
Notoriously, the Orient Express is a train of luxury: coaches lavish, restaurants and relaxation areas finished and perfect for the so-called "slow tourism", where it is not so much the destination final as much as the trip itself to become the adventure worth having.
Over the years theOrient Express has undergone several changes. It has been reduced, especially in the second half of the 1970s, and had to say goodbye to many routes, such as those Italian.
But only until today. After 46 years old, in fact, The Orient Express returns to the rails of the beautiful country., with a train entirely dedicated to Italy and named after Fellini: "La Dolce Vita".
Orient Express La Dolce Vita
The Orient Express returns to Italy in great style, starting in 2023 with 6 trains diverse and iconic itineraries. A tour that will go from north a South, Through 14 regions and 3 international destinations, namely. Paris, Istanbul e Split.
The epicenter will be, needless to say, the eternal city which will host the very first Orient Express Hotel Minerva Rome, which will officially open in the 2024 In the former Fonseca Palace in the Pantheon district. Historical sites, art, gastronomy, sea and mountains as well as countryside and cultural destinations such as Milan, Florence, Venice, Matera and, of course, Rome.
The furniture embodies the traditions Italian, big names in the world of design collaborated on the interiors of La Dolce Vita, the project was created by the architectural firm Dimorestudio.
"The design of the Orient Express La Dolce Vita was conceived to embody a perfect and understated balance between historic and contemporary, without losing its authenticity. Spaces are carefully designed without being ostentatious and always well maintained.
Each element should feel as if it has always belonged there, to create a sense of sophisticated depth and visual weights that can be interpreted as layers of exclusivity. Subtle details complement each other and flow effortlessly."
