With United Next, the United Airlines has decided to accommodate the many requests from its customers. The upgrade program covers its mainline, narrow-body fleet and the purchase of more than 200 Max jets to further enhance the flying experience. The new 737 Max aircraft will in fact have 13-inch high-definition screens in each first-class seat and 10-inch HD screens in each economy seat.
The United Next project for the company's future
As part of the "United Next", United Airlines has also added support for Bluetooth headsets. The feature is available on jets 737 Max 8 from this summer. The 737 Max 10 and Airbus A321neo aircraft will be able to offer this other feature in early 2023. Each new 737 Max and A321neo will also be equipped with what United says is "the fastest on-board Wi-Fi available in the industry." The plan is to have all United mainline aircraft with these features by 2025. In fact, the company has just placed an order for 270 Boeing and Airbus aircraft that will have Bluetooth-enabled entertainment systems for every seat. This is the largest order In the history of the airline and the largest by a single carrier in the past decade. The design of the new aircraft also allows for the following More space for each passenger's carry-on luggage.
All new narrow-body aircraft.
"We will offer a better and more consistent experience, with more features and faster than ever before," said Andrew Nocella, United's EVP and Chief Commercial Officer. "While some airlines are reducing the number of economy seats with extra legroom, United will offer the most premium seats in North America, taking a different, more customer-focused approach." United plans to introduce more than 500 new narrow-body aircraft: 40 in 2022, 138 in 2023, and up to 350 in 2024 and beyond. This means that in 2023 alone, United's fleet, on average, will add about one new narrow-body aircraft every three days.
The plan of United will give customers access to more modern seats and aircraft while reducing flights using smaller single-class regional jets. These new aircraft will give customers even more options for flying between U.S. cities, including some new destinations. United also plans to resume its full schedule of flights from Newark by November 2021.
