Bad news for all Italian frequent flyers, the new loyalty program of ITA Airways named Flying is already late before it is even born.
The loyalty program had been presented on Oct. 15 last, but it was supposed to become partially operational only as of Dec. 31 to allow the use of points from March. Now, however, with an announcement on the website, Italy's fledgling national airline has Official debut of the program postponed until late February.
Dear Member, the Volare program will enter phase 2 by next February 28. From that time you will be able to view, in your personal area, the details of your accumulated points.
is born. Flying ITA Airways' new loyalty program designed just for you.
For every euro you spend to purchase your flights, you will accumulate points that will be credited to you by February 28, 2022 with which you will get benefits and perks starting March 1, 2022.
Plus, based on your accumulated points you will have access to one of the four Clubs in the Volare program: Executive, Premium, Smart and Plus which, by February 28, 2022, will give you access to exclusive services.
What changes from the expected
For all users who have Obtained status through offering status match (still active until 12/31), changes that will not have access to your profile to see your accumulated points, but more importantly you will lose status-related privileges both when flying with ITA Airways and when you Fly with SkyTeam partner airlines.
It will therefore be complicated, if not impossible, to have access to lounges such as the Air France's newest Salon Vip in Paris or the KLM's Crown Lounge in Amsterdam, or in any hall around the world. Same goes for other benefits such as priority boarding, extra baggage and airport fast-tracks, etc.
Also members will have to continue to travel "in the dark." since they are still so many open questions about the new carrier's program. It is impossible to know how many points are accumulated, just as it is difficult to speculate on the criteria for obtaining or renewing status.
Without this information, one is unable to evaluate On which program it makes the most sense to credit the flight and accumulate the miles. While other airlines focus so much on the frequent flyer program, even and especially as a source of income, it seems that ITA Airways has more important things to think about. And, judging from our review of the new Superior class, he would seem to have a point.
