In recent years we have seen many evolutions, and Covid-19 has also led to several changes to meet the changing needs of the traveler. Now all guests can arrive at 6 a.m. and leave the room at 10 p.m. of the next day at no additional cost.
In all other cases it depends very much on the occupancy rate of the hotel; the fuller the hotel the more likely it is to be disallowed.

My advice is always to ask politely. Recently at a hotel in Singapore, in the world-famous Marina Bay Sands, I was given an early check-in at 9:30 a.m. and a late check-out at 4 p.m., all free of charge and without any status and without having to insist.
