Review Levity Lounge Terminal 2, Nice Airport

Nice airport is the second busiest airport in France. Located in the heart of the French Riviera, less than half an hour by car or 10 minutes by helicopter from Monte Carlo.

The airport has two terminals: in the pre-Covid world, T2 was home to Air France and EasyJet, with almost all other airlines concentrated in T1. Covid has turned everything upside down and currently all flights depart from and arrive at T2.

There are two VIP lounges in this terminal, operated directly from the airport; the Infinity Lounge in the Schengen boarding area and this Levity Lounge in the area of flights outside the European Union.

Location and access

The hall is located in area B of the terminal, exactly at the end of the terminal. Since it is an independent lounge, it allows access to business class passengers of companies that operate at the airport and have a contract with the company that manages the lounge.

The hall

While the twin is located on the second floor of the terminal, this lounge is on the same level as the boarding gates.

It is smaller, but this is understandable given the smaller number of flights/passengers leaving from these gates. The decor and style are very similar.

In fact it is a large open space, there are only semi-walls dividing the room into three. The first row is the one facing the bar area, then there is the central area furnished with small sofas, and finally the one facing the windows looking out the back of the terminal set up with armchairs.

Then there are two lounges, one is a relaxation area with armchairs where you can lie down and take a nap while waiting for your flight (but beware no announcements are made so better set an alarm clock if you want to fall asleep) and a slightly more secluded area with small bar-type tables.

Finally, there are work areas, with large tables where you can work with your PC.

The room is clean and tidy, being the first flight in the morning it is obvious that not many passengers had entered yet, but in any case the staff was careful to sanitize the stations when a guest got up.

Food & Beverage

I have transited this lounge several times, both before Covid and during pandemic periods as in this case.

The buffet has been removed and now you are served by staff behind the counter, a situation similar to what happens in the terminal's other lounge.

The choice is really paltry, you can't even get a cappuccino, only a long coffee macchiato, or as they call it in France "caffe au lait."

The food offerings are also poor, nothing hot: just some croissants, cookies, cereal or yogurt, really the bare minimum.

In conclusion

I certainly would never pay the 30 or so euros required to enter this lounge; there is a Starbucks in front of it that with less money and more choice certainly guarantees a better experience in this respect.

Having free Priority Pass, however, thanks to my Platinum American Express is a convenient choice to relax before your flight and have a cup of coffee without having to pay anything.

The verdict

It is surprising that France's second airport has no official lounge, at least Air France's, and we rely only on these independent lounges. The offer is too little, covid is fine but not having the possibility to make a cappuccino even with a machine is a little poor.
