Despite this situation of uncertainty it is still possible to accumulate Millemiglia points in various modes, paradoxically even flying, but not with ITA Airways.
How to accumulate points by flying
The program has maintained a partnership with three airlines-Air France, KLM and MEA. By flying with these three carriers, all members of the SkyTeam alliance, one can decide to accumulate more Millemile points. What is most unique, however, is that only by flying with these three companies can you earn qualifying miles, useful for status renewal. Singular because Millemiglia is continuing to bill itself as a frequent flyer program, but without having an airline of reference.
The Mymiglia website also states that travelers who wish to continue accumulating points and miles on the program, when flying with these three airlines will also see status recognized, with SkyPriority benefits attached.
As reported to us by some readers this does not happen and there is no trace in the lounges, for example of Air France, of the Alitalia or Millemiglia logos among the cards that give access to the Parisian lounges.
How to earn points with Lastminute.com
Lastminute.com is the true, only, partner of the current Millemiglia program. Not only does it allow you to earn 5 miles for every euro spent on the portal, but it is the only place where holders pcan spend their Millemiglia points by turning them into vouchers, as well as car rental from Avis.
Other ways to accumulate Millemiglia points
Then there are still plenty of ways to accumulate points, almost all of those that were active before Alitalia's bankruptcy. It is therefore still possible to transform IoSI points into Millemiglia points, just as it is possible to continue accumulating points with the Two credit cards from Deutsche Bank, with shopping and all other program partners.
I recently transited through Rome Fiumicino, and around the duty free shops there were lots of advertisements advertising the possibility of earning miles with spending at the airport.
The question to ask is, why still accumulate points in a program without a future? I frankly cannot find a logical sense in choosing to accumulate points from a flight with KLM on Millemiglia, rather than on the Flying Blue program.
In this case, the real flaw is that ITA Airways is a SkyTeam member, but to date, members still do not have their membership number And therefore it is impossible to accumulate points and miles by flying with non ITA airlines
What is the point of earning qualifying miles to renew a status in a program that does not have an airline where benefits can be dispensed? I am currently an "old" Winged Arrow with status expiring next 12/31. The only benefit I have had is that I have taken advantage of some proposals from status match, such as that of ITA Airways, but otherwise I see no future unless the new owner comes up with something never seen before.
