Dubai was the world's top-rated destination in the Travellers' Choice Awards 2022 Tripadvisor.
Winners were determined based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings specific to each award subcategory. Reviews, these, that Tripadvisor users made about accommodations, restaurants, and things to do in destinations around the world between November 1, 2020 and October 31, 2021 .

Why is Dubai the No. 1 destination in the world?
Popular all along, Dubai has risen in Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards rankings in recent years. Now, in 2022, it has taken the crown as the most popular destination on the planet.
But why is it the No. 1 destination in the world? "Dubai is an ultramodern city, which really has it all: golden beaches, top-notch restaurants and beautiful hotels," Justin Reid, Tripadvisor's director of media, destinations and travel, explained to CNN. "Since the Travellers' Choice Awards are based on reviews of places to go, accommodations, and things to do, to have ranked as the world's best destination means it has achieved reviews stellar by travelers in all its sectors."
Despite the effects of the pandemic, Dubai continued to attract tourists from near and far over the past year. And it stood out as the favorite place to go for people who needed a little distraction. Especially since, on the subject of access, it has from the very beginning adopted "softer" measures. Italy, however, wins in food lovers' favorite destinations: Rome Is at the top of the list.
