Virgin Atlantic has launched a new offer-not the best ever in the history of the Flying Club program, but close enough. Until March 11, it will be possible to obtain 60% of bonus points, a percentage that rises to 70% for those with status.

Of course, if you want to get the maximum possible bonus, you have to buy quite a number of points, but the rewards are certainly attractive.

We have explained several times the rules behind the practice of buying points, just by taking advantage of a bonus like this I was able to buy, through Virgin Atlantic points, a first class ticket with ANA, one of the world's most expensive tickets in the world's best first class.

It is very important to always remember that this strategy must be implemented in the short to medium term, and not for the purpose of accumulation for future use. Buy to redeem an award ticket.

What to do with Virgin Atlantic points

VS, as is well known, does not participate in any aviation alliance. It does, however, have close ties with Delta and Air France/KLM. It also has partnerships with so many companies both to accumulate points by flying and to use them to redeem award tickets.

Obviously, the first solution is to use the points to book a flight with Virgin Atlantic, while also taking advantage of the opportunity to earn both miles and status points with award tickets as well, a possibility offered by very few loyalty programs.

VS has a fixed table for its award tickets, meaning that the number of points needed to book a flight depends on the destination, cabin class, and season (high or low).

The award table is based on a round-trip flight to or from the UK, with redemption rates based on the region of the world in which you are traveling. For one-way flights, redemption rates are halved.

You can also use the points to book award flights on 10 other companies:

    • Air France
    • Air New Zealand.
    • All Nippon Airways (ANA).
    • Delta Air Lines.
    • Hawaiian Airlines.
    • KLM.
    • Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).
    • Singapore Airlines.
    • South African Airways.
    • Virgin Australia.

Five ideas for using Virgin points:

    #1 A first-class ticket with ANA.

Undoubtedly this is the best chance to use the points, I also used it to book a ticket that otherwise would have cost me almost 10 thousand, and not just under 1,300 euros as was the case.

#2 Flying with Virgin in the U.S.

Tickets from London are very expensive, that's why buying points to lower the total expense for an upper class ticket is definitely a good strategy And the easiest to implement. You buy the points and a few minutes after being credited, you proceed to book the award ticket.

    #3 Flying Air New Zealand

If your destination is "down under," as Americans say, this could be an opportunity to take advantage of Virgin points and fly from New Zealand to Fiji, or the U.S. West Coast and vice versa. Business class costs an average of 62,500 points for a 12-hour flight from Auckland to LA, one of those flights that take you back in time.

#4 Delta One Suite with 5$ of fees

A ticket from the U.S. to Italy in Delta's new business class costs 50k points and 5$ in taxes, a real bargain.

#5 Going into space using dots

Virgin means the whole world created by Sir Richard Branson, this also means. Being able to use the points to fly in space aboard Virgin Galactic. Sure, it takes a lot of points, but it is an equally expensive ticket.
