The light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer and closer, at least judging by the indications coming from the aviation world. Day by day, travel restrictions are becoming fewer and fewer, and the requirements for those wishing to travel are also decreasing.
Against this backdrop, Air Canada, a Star Alliance carrier, announced the reopening of as many as 34 intercontinental routes to Europe and Asia.
Starting next month, direct connections will resume for Toronto from Tel Aviv, Paris, Tokyo and Amsterdam. Most importantly, from March 27, the connection from Rome and on April 15 from Venice.
Flights will also resume to Montreal from Rome (on March 26), Milan (on May 21) and Venice (on April 16). There will be, at present, no direct flights on Vancouver.
Also important is the fact that routes to airports dedicated to tourist traffic, such as Nice, Barcelona, and Copenhagen, which had in fact been suspended since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, will also be reactivated.
