Beginning Monday, Feb. 7 all passengers bound for Greece and in possession of a Green pass valido They will be exempted from taking the swab, PCR or rapid, before departure to Athens and all other destinations.
The measure had been called for in December, with the outbreak of the Omicron variant, and now that the situation in Europe seems to be trending toward a sharp decline in infections, the Greek authorities have decided to remove the requirement for all passengers holding a valid green certificate.
The announcement was made yesterday by Health Minister Thanos Plevris. However, it continues to be required to complete the PLF for all passengers, and the power of health authorities to randomly stop passengers for testing upon disembarkation in Greek territory remains in effect.
Other nations as well, How recently Italy, have chosen to make travel easier for travelers who are fully vaccinated and/or have a green pass.
From next Feb. 11 England will cancel all prescriptions and you will be able to travel, if vaccinated, without any restrictions and without having to take any tests before departure or immediately after arrival.
Portugal has also announced, but without giving a specific date, that it will soon eliminate the requirement to take a pre-departure swab as a requirement for boarding.
