It might prove interesting, for example, to find out what are The longest and shortest routes among those departing from Italy, referring to a well-known and popular low-cost airline such as Ryanair. Read on to discover interesting insights for your upcoming travels.

Ryanair's longest flights from Italy.

Thanks to Ryanair, it is possible to reach from our country virtually any location in Europe and even some outside the Old Continent. Here are the three longest routes you might want to invest in: departure is shown with reference to Bergamo - Orio al Serio airport, Ryanair's main departure point in Italy.

  • LAPPEENRANTA (Finland), 2,129 km: a long flight to the northernmost point served by the Irish airline from our country. Lappeenranta is a town overlooking Lake Saimaa and is a short distance from the Russian border; it is also the location of the series Bordertown, available on Netflix. Ryanair runs two flights a week, for only €7.99.
  • TENERIFE (Spain), 2,964 km.: a definitely different trip to one of the world's most well-known and exploited vacation destinations, but one that never loses its appeal. Understandably, flights to Tenerife, a Spanish territory off the coast of Morocco, are very frequent with prices ranging from 20 euros.
  • AQABA (Jordan), 2,864 km.: Ryanair also offers trips to Jordan, to Amman and Aqaba, the more distant of the two destinations. It is a city in the deep south of the country, on the Dead Sea, which is also Jordan's only outlet to the sea. Despite its small size, it has grown so much economically and touristically over the years, but it also has important historical sites (not far away is the famous Petra). Flights are infrequent, ranging from 4.99 euros to nearly 55 euros.

If, on the other hand, you are not interested in spending a lot of time in the air and do not want to travel long distances, you may be interested in the shorter routes that Ryanair operates out of Italy. Again, the airport of takeoff is Bergamo - Orio al Serio.

  • MARSEILLE (France), 388 km: The most important city in the south of France is not only a great place to visit, but also a good base for then going on to discover the renowned Côte d'Azur coastal region and the picturesque hinterland of Provence. Flights are fairly frequent, about four per week, starting at 8 euros.
  • ZADAR (Croatia), 516 km: Zadar is a small town on the Croatian coast in the Dalmatian region with a long history behind it, a close relationship with Italian culture (it was Venetian territory), and a present tourist attraction. It can currently be reached by two flights per week, with a fee ranging from 13 to 54 euros.
  • PESCARA (Italy), 522 km: A good option if you do not want to leave Italy is Pescara, in Abruzzo. It is a city that overlooks the Adriatic Sea, but it can be the starting point for further travel, for example to the great natural parks of the Abruzzo hinterland. Ryanair operates daily flights, usually at 7.99 euros.
