Canada has announced changes to procedures for vaccinated tourists to enter the country.
Traveling to Niagara Falls and large Canadian cities also becomes easier thanks to the New direct connections from Italy by Air Canada, but mainly due to the fact that all passenger prerequisites will be eliminated as of April 1.
This means that you will be able to travel without having to take any pre-departure tests. However, the requirement to complete the travel application via the ArriveCAN application and the electronic visa application remains.
Travelers arriving without completing the ArriveCAN application may have to be tested upon arrival and quarantined for 14 days, regardless of their vaccination status.
For partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers who are currently authorized to travel to Canada, the requirements for pre-entry testing do not change. Thus unless otherwise exempted, all unvaccinated travelers aged 5 years and older must continue to provide the pre-entry Covid-19 test result:
- a valid, negative antigen test taken outside Canada no more than one day prior to the departure time of their originally scheduled flight or their arrival at the land or sea border port;
- a valid, negative molecular test performed no more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or seaport of entry;
- a previous positive molecular test performed at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days prior to the departure time of their originally scheduled flight or their arrival at the land border or seaport of entry. It is important to note that positive antigen test results will not be accepted.
