Sidney will be home to a Waldorf Astoria hotel, the world's leading luxury hotel brand, set against an iconic backdrop.
28 floors for 220 rooms will rise in the most luxurious residential heart of the Australian city: the Hilton Group reaches a new major milestone, adding to its already renowned portfolio a new hotel in one of the most prestigious and sought-after areas in the world. The new project, which was officially approved in early April, will open its doors to guests beginning in early 2025, and promises to be one of Australia's most attractive destinations for luxury tourism.
What the Waldorf Astoria in Sydney will look like
First, the location. The Waldorf Astoria in Sydney will see the light of day in One Circular Quay, the new downtown development area that will place Hilton's new Australian hotel in the heart of the city's most modern and sought-after area. Just 15 kilometers from Kingford Smith International Airport, the accommodation will rise in the same area that is already home to some of the most iconic local shopping destinations. It is located near the famous Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, Harbour Bridge and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
A project taken care of in great detail by Hilton. It stems from a partnership with the Australian company AW Holding Group, which is handling precisely the development of the One Circular Quay area. The architectural aspect, on the other hand, has been entrusted to the Japanese firm Kengo Kuma & Associates, which worked closely with Sydney-based Crone Architects to blend the classic style of the Waldorf Astoria with the modern style of the Australian city.
The hotel will include 179 guest rooms and 41 luxury suites. They will be immersed in an atmosphere characterized by large public areas and luxury amenities, such as an exclusive spa, two different restaurants and a rooftop bar. From here they will be able to enjoy the extraordinary views offered by Sydney. "Hilton is thrilled to be partnering with AW One Circular Quay to bring the Waldorf Astoria brand to Australasia, marking a significant milestone in the growth of our portfolio," commented Guy Phillips, vice president of development for Hilton's Asia-Pacific region. "The entry of Waldorf Astoria in Sydney underscores our development strategy to bring our global brand to discerning customers in the world's major markets."
