Loses iPad in airplane seat and a mechanic finds it 2 years later

Of things in life there are we lose a lot, some are more careless and some less so, but at least 1 time it will have happened to practically everyone to lose their house keys, wallet, cell phone or an ID. The protagonist of today's story lost his iPad On an American Airlines flight in January 2020.
The tablet was literally "swallowed" from its business class seat, he even went after the pilot at the end of the flight that partially undressed part of the upholstery of the seat, removed the life jacket and searched every crawlspace....but nothing, the search came to nothing. Then again, you know, iPads always make them thinner, and so every slot can prove fatal.
The passenger had to give up the search because he had a coincidence to be picked up in Dallas, while the plane had to be immediately operational for another flight, so the engineers could not act immediately because that would have resulted in a delay and the delays cost.
In May this year, after well 2 years from the loss, the passenger received an unexpected call by a American Airlines mechanic who had found his iPad during an intervention of maintenance And, after putting it in charge, he was able to track him down so as to send him his iPad, which had since been replaced.
This story gives us pause for thought for two things in particular. The first is that the plane received internal maintenance. after 2 years, although indeed the pandemic left several aircraft grounded for a good year, so it is likely that it flew Little.
The second, and more disturbing, reflection we have to make is that in two years, no one has posed the problem of retrieve that iPad, certainly not for the value per se or to make the passenger happy, but for a much more serious reason. I mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets or laptops, in fact they have internal batteries at the lithium-ion which, it is known, if damaged can prove to be very dangerous, as many YouTube videos show.
The battery of the iPad, and tablets in general, is much more great than that of a telephone, which means that if damaged it can give off sparks or even explode, which could have resulted in a fire in a spot that is difficult to tame, especially in flight.
Such an event happened in 2018 on a Qantas flight, a passenger in fact inadvertently caused an alarm on board because of his phone.
While he was intent on arranging his things, the cell phone fell In the inner parts of the seat. To try to retrieve it the passenger has moved the chair and inadvertently squashed the phone by breaking the battery and causing overheating that has burned the seat. Result? Stench of burnt rubber on board. Promptly the crew proceeded to operate the fire extinguishers To prevent any problems.
But what can be tamed in the cabin, in the hold or in the interior parts can turn into a tragedy.
An iPhone earned points by flying for 3 days alone
A more curious story is that of a passenger who has left his iPhone on board a Qantas flight that Has flown undisturbed for 3 days In the front pocket of a seat.
The owners tracked the phone with the "Find My iPhone" App and saw the shifts of the smartphone that took a little trip to Hawaii, Sydney, and Auckland. The phone was then returned to the owner who joked that she had earned about 600 credits and had almost qualified for Gold Member status.
