United Airlines has opened its new lounge at EWR Airport in New Yersey. A 2,000-plus-square-foot venue that offers travelers modern design, enhanced amenities, km0 culinary offerings, art pieces, and views of the Manhattan skyline.

Located in Terminal C3 near gate C123, this club is the largest in the United network and will open just in time for the Memorial Day holiday, which the airline predicts will be one of the busiest travel weekends this year.

"As more and more customers return to the skies, United is committed to offering them a superior experience on and off the plane, especially at busy airports," said Aaron McMillan, United's managing director of hospitality and planning. "Our new Newark Clubhouse has been carefully designed with the customer at the forefront with thoughtful touches such as murals and decorations that reflect the local community," he explained.
"This design theme and commitment to creating a locally inspired experience," McMillan later emphasized, "will set the precedent for future club openings and renovations across our network. Indeed, the Newark United Club venue reflects a modern vision of the lounge experience and features many firsts for the club, including:
- The company's largest lounge: the club seats more than 480 in spaces for relaxing, working, private dining and socializing.
- Spa-like showers: members can freshen up in one of six suites, stocked with Sunday Riley products .
- Coffee shop experience: there will always be a barista ready to prepare your favorite craft beverages, including coffee featuring illy's exclusive blend of 100% Arabica beans, as well as culinary offerings at all United Clubs, such as free drinks and snacks.
- Modern Newark-inspired design : Passengers can enjoy unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline amid locally sourced furniture and décor, as well as the new design and color scheme that will be rolled out in future new and renovated clubs. The space also includes modern amenities such as self-scanning entry for quick access and free high-speed Wi-Fi.
- Sustainable and eco-friendly materials: as part of the airline's commitment to sustainability, the Club is designed with sustainable materials and features, such as WaterSense-rated fixtures, improved indoor air quality, clean greenery, and more.
- In collaboration with the Newark Museum of Art and Gallery Aferro, the new clubhouse features two murals created by local artists Gilbert Hsiao and Dahlia Elsayed. Inspired by the musical heritage in the Newark area and United's iconic history, Hsiao's mural, located at the club's entrance, is a deceptively simple and eye-catching piece with dots and circles to represent abstract rhythms in space and a nod to the United Club globe. Elsayed's artwork, located in the lounge, is an abstract, textural piece that references Arshile Gorky's famous 1936-67 murals at EWR, with images that include built and natural environments of the New York/New Jersey area .
