Flight QF5 landed almost 30 minutes early. coming from Sydney with only one quick technical stopover in Perth, the first direct link between our nation and Australia after a 17-year absence. Announced last December the flight will operate until the end of October and is the second Qantas route to Europe after the flight to London Heathrow.
With a duration of nearly 16 hours, on the Perth Rome route, this flight rightfully enters the list of Longest commercial flights in the world. And it is of course also the longest departing from Italy, exceeding by about 100 minutes the Rome Buenos Aires direct connection, operated by both ITA Airways and Aerolineas Argentinas.
Australia has recently eased entry requirements for passengers international and that is also why Qantas has restarted its engines, almost at 100%. In recent days the A380 with the kangaroo on its tail has returned to fly to London after an intermediate stop in Singapore, just as connections to Perth have resumed on London.
