The world is opening up again, day after day, eliminating requirements for international travel. Yesterday we wrote about New Zealand e today we are talking about Sydney, capital of New Wales in southeastern Australia.
The decision, which became effective immediately, states. no isolation will be required when arriving in New South Wales from abroad. So for fully vaccinated travelers headed from Italy to Sydney (and vice versa), will no longer be necessary no tests and quarantine.
What changes for those who want to go to Sydney
For passengers bound for Sydney aboard intercontinental flight, therefore, all requirements also fall upon arrival, The one from the pre-departure test had been eliminated in April.
Thus, the requirements for entering Australia are as follows:
- Meet the requirements of the Commonwealth government (eVisa) to enter Australia
- Be fully vaccinated According to the requirements of the Commonwealth government, unless you are exempt
- Complete the Digital Declaration Within seven days of departure
Children are considered fully vaccinated travelers for entry into Australia, regardless of their actual vaccination status if:
- They are 11 years of age or younger
- Are between 12 and 17 years of age and are traveling with at least one adult (over 18 years of age) who is fully vaccinated
It is good to remember that Australia is a confederation of states and each state issues its own rules, somewhat like in the European Union. At the moment, therefore Queensland and South Australia are the only Australian states with direct international flights that impose mandatory arrival tests For international travelers.
In conclusion
Australia and New Zealand, after keeping their borders firmly closed for nearly 2 years, are now virtually reopened and ready to welcome vaccinated travelers from around the world. Perfect then is the possibility of Fly from Rome with its own direct flight to Sydney. This news comes just in time to "free" me from the last possible hiccup in my next world tour which will lead me to fly right to Sydney and Auckland in July.
