ITA Airways expands its intercontinental network with the new Rome Fiumicino - Malé, Maldives flight. Alitalia had already operated this connection in the past, again to cover the hot period of travel to the archipelago in the Indian Ocean, namely the Christmas vacations and the winter period.
It is already possible to purchase tickets for the new flight, which will be Operated from December 17, 2022 until March 26, 2023, the last return date from the Maldives. Upon departure on December 17, the flight will have 3 frequencies per week until January 22, which will become 2 per week from January 23 until the end of the winter season.
ITA Airways is thus expanding its presence in the intercontinental market, looking out over the Indian Ocean and responding to increasing customer demand for one of the world's most sought-after tourism destinations, the Maldives. With the new Rome Fiumicino - Malé flight, ITA Airways' intercontinental network rises to 8 destinations for a total of 63, including 22 domestic and 33 international.
Browsing around on the ITA Airways website, tickets are already on sale and prices for Christmas are in line with the competition, so medium high. The Maldives is not a cheap destination, although there are plenty of ways to use the points and Exploiting them to avoid paying the resorts.
The flight will be operated with theA350, then the new flagship of ITA Airways. It is surprising that there is no Premium Economy on sale yet. At the moment these planes do not have this cabin, but installation should start in September, so strange that there is no opportunity to buy these seats.
