Above all, we like to go in search of excellent bargains, no matter if they are error fares or particularly discounted fares. But, occasionally, it is the dynamic award ticket tables applied by some loyalty programs that give us real bargains.
When it comes to finding award seats, flying under the holidays usually is the worst time, which is why today we are talking about what we can safely call a great deal.
As we have explained many times, the point of aviation alliances is to allow a passenger to take advantage of the status and benefits associated with his or her frequent flyer card with many other airlines, not just the one of which one is a loyal customer.
This also translates into the possibility of booking an award ticket: for example, using the points accumulated on the Air France card by flying Delta Airlines, to then fly Vietnam Airlines.
How to earn Flying Blue miles in Italy
There are many ways to earn FB loyalty program miles in Italy. For those with a VAT number, there is also a credit card that allows you to turn every euro spent for the company into 1.5 FB points: it is Mooncard and is a start-up that has recently arrived in the Italian market.

Flying to Vietnam from 15 thousand points
The first thing is that we are not talking about a few places that are impossible to find. As you can see above, practically every day before Christmas you can Book with only 15 thousand points and just under 100 euros in fees a ticket to fly from Milan, via Paris, to Hanoi or willingly one of the other domestic destinations served by Vietnam Airlines.
The price does not change whether you book one way or the full trip, but you might also consider flying to Hanoi and back, for example, from Bangkok or one of the many other destinations in the Asian region served by a Skyteam airline.
If the economy fare is really low, the business class fare is by no means worse: only 55k points, plus 211 euros in taxes and surcharges. Finding a ticket to fly to Asia at such low points is really a miracle: other airlines charge no less than 70/100k points minimum.
The flight to Paris is operated with the Dreamliner. The 787 is the backbone of the Vietnamese airline's long-haul fleet, outfitted in 3 classes: 28 business class seats configured with 4 seats per row, this means that all passengers have direct aisle access. Then there are 35 premium economy seats and 211 economy class seats.
In conclusion
A family of four could get by with 120k Flyng Blue points and 800 euros in taxes to spend Christmas in Asia flying from almost any Italian stopover, or the single 15k point flight may be perfect for those looking for a way to get to Southeast Asia while spending as little as possible, and less than 15k points is just not thinkable to spend.
